Victor Esteban Rodriguez
Fresh Recruit
Greetings everyone,
I know this has been talked about before but here's the deal:
I've been wanting coilovers for a while now but there is no way I can afford over US$1200 for a decent set plus the customs tax here which is around 40% when the item goes over a thousand dollars, I live in the DR where we have to source everything from online and pay private couriers to deliver our goods.
A few years ago I found the DIY coilovers from the Polo 6N and while the fronts worked good with some minor slotting the rear have been a pain since they bottom out.
I did find a guy that said that either the Mirage or Lancer from like 96 or something work, only redrilling the front holes to make the bolts pass through will work.
Since those are found cheaper online (around $500 new) I am willing to pull the trigger if the modification required is a lot less, so can anyone confirm if the Mirage or Lancer can be worth the shot?
I have a 1996 Tercel with a 4EFTE swap and the body shares a lot of parts with the EP82/91 platform.
Thank you.
