Starlets in London

Hi folks,

I've been a starlet owner for 8 years now (currently on second one) and am still loving it. Once in a while I drive past another starlet in London and there is always the wave however I've never actually been on a proper Starlet exclusive cruise.

Anyone fancy it? Could perhaps meet in London and go for a drive towards some lovely country roads?

If there is much response I'll put something up in the meets section, but just thought i'd throw it out there first.

Those of you who know me know I take cruising/driving seriously due to my work, so I can assure you I'd put a good route together!

Nick.

Ok great guys, well I never hang around in a car park for long so consider this a done deal.

I am looking in the diary and will come up with a date, I am thinking it has to be July though, perhaps the 22nd, which is a Sunday morning?

Happy to put a run together either somewhere in Hertfordshire for the Essex lot or we could meet at perhaps the Ace Cafe and do a Thames Valley run? All nice roads.

Thoughts?

Great guys consider this on - 22nd July, depending on where people are travelling from or on their preference we can either:

start from South Mimms, do a coffee and do the Hertfordshire run which is very picturesque

or

we can meet at the Ace Cafe first thing for a bacon roll, do a bit of motorway driving to look at each others cars and then hit some country roads as we get south west of London into the Thames Valley.

Thames Valley may be a bit further for some people but its a good drive (though I don't know it that well).

Thoughts on the above?

I will start a meets/events thread and post the link shortly. Actually just seen this has been moved to meets/events!

both good ideas but..
what about a little blast round the city as its a sunday (no conjestion charge) a few tunnels go past the eye round westmionster make a bit of noise. then head off towards county roads etc like you said above ?

just a thought !

Hi Russy,

I nice thought but with John Lewis sales etc I still think the traffic would prevent us from getting some real good driving going on. In my experience, the country roads give us better value for the petrol ;-)

Im easy about where we go. Thinking London would be good but as said above, i think the traffic would still be about and will prevent us from putting out foot down. Could maybe cut through London onto some good roads thereafter? I cant really suggest many places though as dont drive up there much at all.

I am happy to say lets meet at Ace cafe early doors, perfect place for a meet, greet and cup of coffee.

Happy to lead us down to Wembley where we may be able to get some really cool pics of us and the cars in front of the stadium.

We can then make our way out of London via M4 and into the country roads towards what will hopefully be a very nice pub for a chill out before heading back.

If this sounds good and we can get decent numbers I will do a reccy and check out the route and find the right pub.

Thoughts?

Should probably meet there at 8am, photos at Wembley 8.30am, then perhaps 1-2 hours driving country lanes to pub which should have us there by 11am, then quick blast back to the Ace for 1-2pm and onwards home for a Sunday afternoon on the couch...

This agenda isnt set in stone but past 9am all the Sunday drivers come out so the earlier it is the better the lanes will be :)

Im getting the list started, we need people for it to be worth it so put your names down!

No interest in this which is dissapointing. I always see people on the site asking for more meets etc.. but when the threads come up no one puts their names down.

I may give this a miss then and take me car off the road for a bit for some much needed TLC.
