Could you not just move the stock pump to where the A/C pump used to be or does the intercooler pipe run there?
Certainly read somewhere that the 106 setup has been used before...

Thought about the Corsa steering column like the Mini lot use?

Never done it myself, but i cant see it being difficult with a fabb'd up bracket to relocate the pump and run new hoses?
OR
Do what the Honda girlies do, strip down the PAS rack and remove the piston etc therefor effectivly making it a non PAS rack (the correct way) Looping the pipes isnt correct way of doing it.
Swapping out for a manual rack will give you a longer lock to lock also.

not harder on the steering?

Just remove the whole PAS and loop the rack. on the road it feels tighter and gives you more feedback. When parking its not really that much different. As long as your not a little old biddy you will be fine. I prefer mine without PAS with a looped rack.

Never really had the need to look into it myself but one small observation from engine bays I've seen in the past.

It might be a good idea to cover the metal edges of the bodywork in case those hoses rub or catch over time.

You could also wrap the hoses themselves for added protection. Probably something you already have planned but thought it was safer to mention it at this stage.

From memory I think Phil may have a coolant and washer bottle in the way of where Shaun has located his PAS reservoir. In that case an ABS model's set of tanks should sort that issue out. If the ABS is installed it'll need removing (like it looks has been done in the pics above).

All in all great work. Frees up a bit of engine bay space!
