Hi guys!
I just bought a TDo4L from a subaru, I had another one from speedvisions...
The problem was that the turbo was smoking... I tried with diferent oil brands and oil grades... but always smokig... so I bought a TD04L from a subaru... but the same story... so I opend the engine to see If something was wrong.. but everything is fine...
So my questions is.....
Is the oil restrictor something to do with this?

think the later td04s did come with a small oil bolt to restrict oil but shouldnt be the problem. check your oil return is flowing freely and your oil level isnt too high.

just has to flow easily, and turbo oil outlet pointing straight down.

it could also be that both turbos are gone.

Both turbo are brand new....
The does not smoke at idle...
Just after 4k when oil press reach more than 50psi....
And when are under compression.... And the oil press reach 40psi And I accelerate... Smoke again....

It's like white, And smells like oil burning....
And I can notice that my oil level it's getting lower... So must be oil...
My water level steel fine.... Last week my changed the headgasket just to make sure.... But was fine....

Did you notice oil in intake pipe?
did you notice oil only on the exhaust pipe?

You forgot to mention that you hava a 5E!!

I think your rear view mirror is the problem!

Cover it and you will not see the smoke!! LOL
