to be honest, given the price of a decent condition unit,,,i'd suggest you try to get a good turbo one time

i'm not sure how much a full rebuild will cost over your side of the pond

Rebuild it yourself for a tuppence using an eBay rebuild kit :D

TBF though, a decent used one is usually pretty cheap. You can also pick up brand new copies from china on eBay that will probably be fine.

Probably 3-400£ for a standard rebuild

I picked my tf035 up for 80£ and it appears to be in excellent condition, will still be sending it off for fresh seals and check over before fitting it because...
My ct26 was a fresh build with only 110km on it, it sat for 6 years and now the seals are toast, really should have had it checked because now it has to come of again for new seals and possibly a larger compression wheel :)

o_O...i've bought an excellent condition used vf35 within that price range in the past
i've had very low mileage td04ls for the equivalent of gbp$100/300

well it's HD's choice either way, but at least he has options
The ct26 was done in 2015 and it had everything done, its rated to 380hp and was 550£ back then plus 40 quid postage

Thanks for all of the replies and suggestions. Much appreciated as always. its for a customer of mine who currently has a TD04 thats started to smoke on boost. hes still driving it back and forth to work but not bosting it. hes not is a position to take his off and wait for it to get rebuilt as he uses the car for commuting to work. Hence he wants one he can fit straight on

Must have been a shit job. I rebuilt a ct9 about 5 years ago. Slapped it on last winter and been using it this year with no issues.

If it has been rebuilt and stored properly then there isn't much that is going to go wrong with it.
