I've not fitted mine yet so I'm not 100% until there in lol but 99.% sure polo 6n is what we're after guys.all credit to Colin.will try sort pics out now

This is my rear coilovers in bits these are ta technix my bushes don't screw off like Colin's they maybe a different model?

I looked at a few kits on fleabay .. there's some serious amount of kits for the polo 6n / golfs ! l I guess its only a matter of time before people get confident and start chopping up bilsteins and ohlins! ;)

Someone post up the Rear shock bush size so we can get sourcing the relevant poly-bushes and metal inserts, I assume that needs tidying up.. it would be a lot easier to have the bush pressed out with a press , then cut them down to size and fit the relevent sized polybush, and fit
just my £0.02.. would this be any better ?

now put the oem shock next to the small 1 think it will be even smaller !!!! there is about 4 inch size diference between mk1 and mk2 !!!!

bottom bush ( rear ) ( golf ) is 50mm wide 32 on starlets

its topmounts we nead to figure out a cheap solution !!!!

I see what you mean about expensive !
found these ,
front : around £35 per side .
Kayaba - KYB Strut Top Mount Kit - Suspension Mount Kit - SM5089
KYB-Kayaba Part Number = SM5089
These should be changed at same time as the shock absorbers as they take as much punishment
Sold as a Single Unit - You need 2 per Axle

then I found ep82 rears randomly enough .KYB Strut Mounts (SM5088). http://rpmware.com/catalog/item/523770

a set of 4 top mounts is not far off the price of the mk1 rears and mk2 fronts then , a solution must be found. I think the bearing is included tho from I pic I saw , and after searching more it comes up with tercel / paseo parts,

i am looking into universal camber adjust topmounts right now also the bmw seems cheap must get some measurements somehow

so do the coil-over spring perches match with the Toyota top mounts ? it looks like a nice fit in the photo's of your assembled shocks.

I'm pretty sure OEM topmounts would cost hundreds of pound's its been discussed in the past , some decent solid camber adjustable top mounts would be more than welcome !

yes mate we starlet boys are extremely lucky that they are a strait fit ( oem mounts ) same thread size and al

what is perches ???

Spring perches, sits between the spring and the top mounts , just the big metal spacer tbh.. doesnt really look like a shaped perch from the pics, I assume its just a big round spacer ..

I read an old thread on starletforum. they used the polo 6n coilovers but there pretty much the same, some guy was saying " you don't use that silver plate at all on the vw coils. just read and replyed there them polo 1s wont go as low

now i know what u mean with the persh i cal it the spring cup :) i just kept the 1s from the coilies and just bolted my topmounts on i measured near the front bearing if it would rub but its clear

not sure if it's been mentioned, but if polo 6n's fit , that means mk2 seat Ibiza will fit too . just incase someones got a set lying about to play with ;)

mk2 rears fit BUT they are 4 inches longer then mk1 golf so the ass will be higher then oem !!!!!!!!!!!!

the fronts is mk2 and newer they use the 26mm to ,, mk 1 20mm !!!!!!!! i would love to see a rear mk2 golf coil next to a oem starlet shock ( rear )

I've already posted a pic of mk2 rears and polo 6n rears.polo 6n rears are mk1 golf rears. The same set up.as said before I'm surrounded by dub lads and they have kept me right.
