oh, well i was going to go for these instead of the r 888 as i was told the t1r was ok in the wet

Bit of a difference in r888 and t1r, completely different tyre lol. T1r are ok, overrated in my opinion. Look into the uniroyal rainsport, or bridgestone potenza.

Stay well away from T1-R's if your intending to use them on track (only assuming as you've mentioned R888's). They overheat almost instantly and will be torn to pieces in next to no time, same goes for Yoko Parada Spec2's.

For road use, I would only recommend 2 tyres. First choice would be the Yoko S-drive AS01, second best choice would be the Uniroyal RainSport 2.

you are confusing with R1R which is Wet tire in same tire category as R888

T1R is a road tire. which is quite fine for a road tire.

T1R on track are just fine. They didnt go off with me last time i was out at Knockhill, and they certainly were not torn to peices either.
Remember most folk blame tyres when there car starts sliding or understeering etc, remember its the squidgy bit behind the wheel that affects everything!

Toyo T1R gets a thumbs up from me.

T1R for road and track, thumbs up from me, 888 are pants in standing water, but not damp/wet conditions as such
