Tyre Rub After New Wishbone Bushes

Hoping @Jay and some of the other gurus on here can help.

I changed the control arms and bushes on my GT a few weeks ago, and as expected knocked the tracking out.

So I took it to a local garage to get the tracking done, and as soon as I drove the car out it was making a strange noise from the front drivers side...more so when I turned the wheel right at lower speeds. (Was a suspension noise almost like a rubber to rubber low pitched squeak noise )
I just thought it may have been the new bushes bedding in - I'm no expert - so left it a couple of days but the noise began to get worse.
I took it back to the garage, they didn't really have a clue what the issue was...re-tracked the car again and off I went.
This time the noise was still there, but just not as apparent....but after a hard b road drive the noise was back again and just as apparent as it was previous.

Fast forward to last weekend, and I had a tyre blow out on the motorway - Front drivers side where the noise was coming from - so used a puncher repair kit to get me back home, and took the wheel off expecting to find a nail etc....n but nothing.
However I did see a deep score line around the inside tyre wall and another lighter score line on the outside tyre wall.

The inside of the tyre wall almost looks like it has been rubbing on my coilover ride height adjuster ring :s ??
Either way, I have since put on a spare rim/tyre and replaced the damaged tyre with a new tyre...still making the noise when I turn the wheel right.

I will be taking the car to a proper Geo Garage this time around, but I just wondered if anyone could shed some light on what may have caused this to happen?

The car is lowered about 40mm on Tein coilovers
15inc rims can't need to double check the ET -

195/50 r15 Tyred

Prior to this I have never had any problems. Could the new bushes/arms have caused this to happen, or it it most likely that the garage just really messed the tracking up?
I spoke to the garage again and they claim it couldn't have been their fault as it seems like a camber issue and they cannot adjust camber when they track the car.
One thing for certain is that the car never made any strange suspension noises before the tracking was done.

Sorry for the essay and thanks for any info.

Sorry to hear of the drama bud.

I'd advise having the camber and caster checked as it sounds like the tyre could be catching on the wheel arch at full lock. Whilst it's up on a four poster they should be able to check what clearance the tyres have. Hopefully it's just a bit of adjustment needed.

Thanks Jay.
Man, I forgot how much these lil things can push you to the limit when they're not working properly! lol

Booked in at the Geo Specialist first thing on Saturday morning, so will keep you posted :)

@davehart - running coilovers mate.

@Jay - Quick update.

Took the car in this morning and the front drivers side coilover has given up the ghost....knocking like mad and pillowball topmount is pretty much fcked too. Said Teins are notorious for failing on uk roads.
Anyway the Geo guys were ace. They said whoever tracked the car previously clearly didnt have a clue....as things were way out.
However the tyre rub he said was caused by the coilover being bolted too close to the hub? Initially he suggested maybe spacers would do the trick, but he loosened off the coilover and managed to re-align it all again so I no longer have tyre rub.

In the meantime I need to find a new set of coilovers....He priced me up some yellowspeed ones, at £650....but wanted to see if I could a used set from anywhere first.

Bummer mate. But can't be too upset. These things happen.

Meister R's are the way to go these days.

Unless you fancy importing some Blitz Coilies from the mother land? RHD had them up for around the £600 mark. But by the time you pay postage & import...

At least you got answers - sounds like those guys are switched on which is unfortunately quite rare!

With geometry it only takes something to be out slightly and it can have huge effect on how a car drives. Glad you got it sorted.

For coilovers I'm going to agree with Calum. The Meisters are probably the best option but the price is a hard pill to swallow. They offer finance I think which might make it easier to justify. I'm still hugely tempted by the Blitz set just to be different.

I had meister r's on my old ek9, and they were awesome. I have read nothing but good things about the yellowspeed coilovers since having a look earlier, and they were highly recommended by the place I took the car to.

A good mate of mine knows the owner so they looked after me Jay. They mostly prep Honda track cars, and they were happy for me to wait around inside the garage, ask questions while they were working on my car and have a spy at some of the other track weapons they had in there....made me want another Honda now though lol.
Like you said, its rare to find good garages these days.

I was just spying at the Meister R website and they ve gone up quite a bit in price since I bought mine a few years back for my civic.

Idworkz sell the Yellowspeed ones for like £780 ish...so I guess the price I got quoted wasnt too bad.

I run Meister R units on both of mine. Very good for day to day driving and great for track if you whack the stiffness up.

I think I got mine for around the £550 mark in a group buy on here years back.

If I had the choice though, I'd be different and go for some Blitz units :)

i also run meister coilovers for a long time with no issues...and they still look new, but my climate is very different to yours

they are very nice for a daily driven car and the before/after sales service is good based on my experience

Thanks for the input guys. As I said, I have run Meister R's before on my civic and they were great.....but they have almost doubled it price now and out of my budget.
