Upgrading brakes.

Alright guys, I've just made the switchover to td04. Big thanks to Chris Carson who mapped the car. Car is boosting just under 1.1 bar, so I'm really happy with the difference in performance. I still have the standard brakes on the car so I think it's about time I upgraded. Any advice on what would be an ideal upgrade?

Cheers

Fresh set of drilled disks, uprated pads, braided lines and calipers taken apart and re-greased etc.. and your good to go really.

As above, lines, rbf 600 fluid, yellow stuff pads, new discs- should be enough for anything except track work.

What are peoples thoughts on the WMS brakes availible for the starlets? they are definitely much more compact the any other big brake kit ive seen on them, and the stick to big thick vented discs which is very 'wrc' so im provisionally a fan.

whats everyone elses thoughts?

Ae111 brakes are awesome, costs alot less that wilwood or similar and on my trackday i did they only got better when warmed fully.braided lines is also a must.

when you chaps braid your lines. you do it for the front and rear, correct..? ..coz i'd imagine it defeats the purpose if you brain only the front.. :)

great. i -- on the other hand -- make all my stuff, so will fabricate braided lines from the local fabricator, and just wanted to ensure that you boys are keeping it all nice and tidy by doing the right thing.. :D

Sorry lads only getting back to this now. Have been looking at the EBC vented discs or maybe Brembo discs with the 1144 pads. Surely I couldn't go wrong with these and the braided lines? Only have 15" fox's on her but these are being replaced at some stage in the neat future. Cheers for the replys guys!

1144 are good pads, I have my doubts about EBC discs and personally I would only upgrade to grooved discs, not cross drilled. Discs dont really help with improving the braking friction unless you go bigger, lines, fluid and pads will improve it.

ZZE123 Corolla calipers and carriers with Vauxhall Meriva Turbo discs seems to work rather well.
