what are these?

coming off the fuel rail area on the left you have 4 cables,

1 goes to the hi/low boost
1 goes to brake servo
1 goes to an unkown sensor
1 goes to ??

questions are:

mystery cable is not used. the broken sensor looks like the knock sensor that for some reason everyone manages to break.

at times, toyota used one harness across multiple variants, and just plugged up the ports that were unused in those variants so if a plug is hanging loose but has a factory bung on it, i wouldn't stress too much about it..

Looks very much like a broken knock sensor. It sits on the back of the engine block below the inlet manifold. Quite important.

Thats the the knock sensor plug, the one you need a hand the size of a 6 year old attached to an arm that has an extra joint between the wrist and elbow to get at lol.

You will need a new sensor, part number is 89615-22040, its available from other cars than a Starlet, check it out on the parts reference on Toyodiy. Plug looks ok, just check the wire is not damaged, its only 1 wire with a shield. I put in a plug and socket just after the end of the fuel rail harness so it can be disconnected there rather than down at the sensor.
