What kind of power is achievable without affecting reliablity

Looking into a Glanza now..

It would be my daily drive to work.. around 10 miles a day..

What kind of power is achievable which wouldnt affect the reliability of the block..As i dont want to have a nicely tuned V, which after alot of use blows itself up and the sign of daily use or motorway cruises with the odd heavy foot?

Would 200bhp be okay? As most for sale vary from 170-200bhp..

it all depends on your budget but from what im guessing you talking about standard internals and ct9 turbo. i would say around the 180 is fine to run. i ran mine at 1 bar which will be around 170-180 as a daily and i know the previous owner also ran it as his daily. im now running 250 and its still my daily :) (saying that it wont be for much longer)

Forged ones generally dont come on the market to frequently.. My budget can be as high as £4,000 but i doubt i'd spend that high as i want pocket money to add personal touches..and changes to the spec it may/may not come with..

So a 200bhp essentially could be okay? - As long as its been looked after

I can't speak from personal experience but a lightened flywheel can effect 'drivability'. I have an uprated clutch which is a little tricky but you can get used to it. If you wen't all out on a super clutch you may also have drivability issues.

Will really depend on the car and how it's been looked after tbh. Most of these cars have been in the country for some time time now and they are mostly 15+ years old. What your looking for is good history a lot of us do our own servicing but i have lots of receipts for service items so can prove things have been done. These cars have fallen into the relms of some that just drive them to death then sell on. Look for sensible modifications, history and paperwork to back up anything would be good to see rolling road print outs if the boost has been turned up or the ruebo swapped etc.
You will need to take into consideration that these cars are getting on a bit and you should expect some issues with service items coming to the end of there life such as suspension bushes and joints, turbo and clutch.
