i want more. got that bt home hub thing. spose to be fast. isit fuck, its slow and incredibly intermittent, makes playing counter strike an absolute mission!

BT only supply 'up to' 8mb at the moment.

Your speed is mostly dependent on how far your line has to run from the BT exchange. The further you are, the slower the speeds.

It is not just limited to this though.

I actually could almost double my speeds by modifying the TCPIP.sys file. By removing the Connection limit from 10.

Here is the result from my Uni network :)

Should easily get 100Mbps tho, but I think it's maxing out the server it's using to test the speed LOL.

Totally lol, It picked the Irish one, but I'm sure I maxed that out. Same with the later two, but they must have had some bandwidth allocated elsewhere :)

Downloading files from a good location can net 100Mbps easy ;)

Torrents are amazing, as long as you don't get caught! (1000-3000Kbps downloads lol)

Can get up to 50mb in my area through VM..but there is a good reason why I'm not moving from my current service ;)

My office has several 1TB fibre links to our local data centre, which is then linked to our main datacentre in Leatherhead and out to the Internet. :D

Not impressed,will this ever change???

edit just found this

Your exchange
what’s this?
All telecommunications in your area are routed through your local BT Exchange – this is where your broadband service originates. The closer it is to your home, the faster your broadband speed will be.
Your local exchange:
Larne
Speed your line supports:
Up to 0.25Mb
