I was just about to mention this Adam :)

A new Starlet owners site.......one massive handbags at dawn thread and some serious beef between members. I've not been on the UKSC for ages so not a clue whats going off. They were not all brawling at Japfest this year so I can assume it's not that bad?

Still, only one way to settle which site is better...TV Burb style.....RACE.

Can't really comment without knowing the ins and outs of it although I do have a lot of respect for Geo and the work he has put into UKSC over the years. Sad to see it's come to a manoeuvre like that being pulled.

At the same time there is obviously a reason behind such a move so I'll not be judging anyone quickly.

I thought I'd tuned in to an episode of Hollyoaks or something... I'll keep my judgements to myself on what's occurred...

Dunno if anyone got the email but this hit my inbox this morning.

Sorry to bother you, but there is some interesting news if your still in the Starlet game!

We are happy to announce that as of today Uk Starlet Owners has been launched.

This decision has not been made lightly or on the spur of the moment, it has been discussed between all the staff, traders, moderators and members over the last 12 months since the issues/problems started with the club/site/previous owner. We can no longer work with the sites owner who will not allow ANYONE to help him make decisions for the benefit of the Club and it's Members, we have ALL been told, in no uncertain terms, to be quiet, keep our opinions to ourselves or leave, so that is what we have decided to do to.

This has being going on since the forum downtime issues towards the end of last year and those same issues will again start to hit the UKSC shortly in an attempt to save money, we are not prepared to stand by and watch YOUR club/website/community go through this again with NO support from it's Owner...

We would like to THANK ALL off our Members for the support they have shown the Club over the past year at Shows, On the Forum and Facebook.

We have decided to start UK Starlet Owners and invite ALL Members/Traders to take a look and join us using there existing account, the site will be a NON-PROFIT site were all Money raised will stay with in the club to allow it to grow and be maintained, there will be NO 1 person in charge dictating the direction of the club/site and using it as a way of generating income for themselves.

You will all have the functionality that non paid members had before on UKSC (signatures are turned back on, usable PM space (Not 10) ,etc) on here and any member that is currently a paid member on UKSC, has been honored that time on the here for the first year!

Again we can only apologise to YOU ALL but this has been forced on us ALL and we hope to see you all on the fresh new site at www.ukstarletowners.com

Kind Regards
UK Starlet Owners Staff

I'm actually appalled :-/

I just checked an old email account, and (after logging into the 'new' site) they appear to have taken ownership of all users details and submitted content - images, names, locations, passwords, email addresses etc etc...

P.S. Arnold, you missed the end of the email...

And with that said, its due to a massive miss-use of trust which i find out of order.

Agree with Rory here,
Not taking anyones side but putting trust in someone to basically run the site and has now half inched all the posts, members log ins etc is hardly fair. It wouldn't have been so bad if Matt said, look thinking of making my own site, can I take some stuff since he has been working on it since UKSC was down for 6 weeks or so.

I'll just wait and see what else happens, I'm on here more than other sites so not really fussed, only used UKSC for browsing sales threads. TGTT taught everyone what they know as far as I'm concerned.

Too right this is appalling, surely there was a more amicable way of going about this other than back stabbing and most importantly stealing members details etc. it's the fact that this has been done without any of us knowing. Those of us who have provided uksc with username, password details etc did exactly that. We certainly didn't do it for anyone else to take our details without our permission or even us knowing till receiving an email about some new site starting up. However I don't believe all the details on the subject are out yet and even how many of those that have been posted are 100% factual so will have to take everything with a pinch of salt until things are clearer.
But personally I won't be frequenting the new site until things are clearer as so far I don't agree with what's gone on over there according to the claims so far. Anyway tgtt is the starlet enthusiasts bread and butter
