Aiming to get up there just after mid day on the Saturday, not sure if the car is going to hold out. I'm waiting on a new radiator before I flush the cooling system and try to identify where it's losing coolant. If I can't sort it I might just trailer queen it and see how long it lasts. Could do with some kind of (dare I say it) FCD, keep getting boost spikes for some reason and every time it hits the soft fuel cut I get a horrendous flame out the back.

Just off to do some last minute repairs, assuming I have some success I'll be heading up. It appears that everyone going from my end has dropped out, so will probably be heading up on my own.

Didn't make it yesterday, but should be heading off in the next hour to make up for it. :)

Was good meeting you buddy :)

Shame my day wasn't so successful, but then I wasn't expecting much. Pulled a 15.4 on the first run which involved a 1.3bar boost spike in 3rd gear followed by fuel cut and, as you know, a few flames out the exhaust :haha:. Next run was a 16.4 but something didn't feel right and had another 1.4bar boost spike in 4th just before the finish. The last run I turned the boost controller off, ran 0.6bar on the external gate alone, but something wasn't right, saw hardly any boost in 1st and 2nd gear and the engine had developed a misfire after the previous run.

Put a litre of water in it before I left, stopped my side of Oxford and put another litre of water in the radiator and drove all the way back with the heater on full blast. The misfire turned out to be a loose plug lead on No.1 cylinder. I'd already condemned the engine before I left the pod, so developed a new game on the way back down the M4, I've entitled it 'Burn the BMW', basically the aim is try to set fire to any BMW's that sit on your back bumper, found building boost gradually and then cracking the throttle open resulted in a 1.4bar boost spike and a fook off great flame out the exhaust. Seemed to make them back off anyway :)

The lad with the Glanza (Chris I think he said his name was, I'm terrible with names though) did rather well for a near stock setup.

same mate. was good to see someone from the forum. im crap with names too!!!

i didnt speak to the lad with the glanza, but i saw some of his times and he was doing well. just a few basic mods by the looks of it. i thought it was td04 until i had a nosey.
its all about the start. you get a good start and the rest is history. my first run was my best run. i improved my top speed by 6mph from my first run, but wasnt enough to get me in the 13's unfortunately :( got my best run on 0.8 bar, almost matched it with 1.1 bar at the end, but that was it. really strange!

would have done more runs, but got too frustrated waiting for the 10 million bikes to run every 15 minutes !!!!

will upload the pics i took of your car a little later or tomorrow when i have some time.

i wouldnt go to xfest again. its just like going to your local skatepark and watching the children skate. the rwyb was ok in the morning, but by about midday the bikes basically took over and the queue for the cars barely moved :(

was a decent day though. had a bit of a play on the track etc. roll on japshow!!!

I'll definitely be up there again soon, we'll have to organise a bit better next time. Need the car sorted for a trackday on the 17th so it should be in a better condition for the next one.
