My starlets engine shake starting in first gear

My Toyota starlet shakes when in first gear at the start.but when I am driving in other gears it does not shake.when I am changing to gear two it does not shake what could be the problem?

Only on take off in first?

Juttering would suggest a possible worn clutch or if it's the actual engine moving you could have a worn/broken engine mount causing issues.

yeah, as Jay indicated, check your engine mounts/brackets
are you hearing any banging/clunking noises when moving off in 1st gear?


just exploring other thoughts, does it shake on idle? do you have uprated engine mounts?

It only shakes in first gear.if I do not give it gas it shake very much.but if a move from the clutch very fast and step on the gas pedal it does not shake much.i recently changed two Mounts but I am yet to change the gear box mount
