Cruise are regrinds, your either going to need thicker buckets (non Toyota spec) or longer valve stems. The buckets are the easier option but if you want to use alot of revs then you'll need to consider valvetrain weight and the stems would be better then.

I'm not sure to be honest, but I'm sure someone on here will know where you can get custom ones.

If its shims in the buckets, you need thicker shims, if its shim less buckets then you need thicker buckets. Are they standard 5E/4E buckets? If so you need thicker shims, available from Toyota in lots of different thicknesses.

I doubt you'll be able to shim the valve clearance back into spec when using reground cams, Toyota won't list any shims thick enough and using a shim that's excessively thick will likely result in one or more shims flying out at high revs.

You may be able to get away with using 1ltr Yaris shimless buckets and place a shim between the valve stem and bucket to bring the valve clearance back into spec, though it's still far from ideal. Zisco may be one of the better people to speak to as they have plenty of experience with the 4E/5E cylinder head.

Iv got cruise cams and i use an hrf solid lifter kit with custom inner shims but I bought my head built it's had a lot of porting/machine work so there might be more to it ! !

its standard 4e buckets and shims im using, il ask the shop to measure the gap between the shim and cam and il go from there i suppose, i thought the machine shop was good heard great things about them but they must not be used to complicated stuff like this, sound for all the help lads.

ya i have looked for these kits but cant seem to find one for sale, and dont think they make them anymore, and i already have cruise valve springs in the head. so id just need the buckets and shims.

Doh, forgot they use shims lol.

Hi Mate. you can do an iner shim between the valve and the buckit but if you are going to hi revs not a good idea. if you what at zizco we have big valves and thay are longer for rigrinds cams. we allways use this valves on the full race heads.

what is involved in putting inner shims in? i will be only reving it to 8,500 rpm.

Yaris buckets are available from a 5.06mm to 5.74mm thickness, but you would need to try one on the valves to see if that range would do or if internal shims were still needed.

ok that sounds good lad, its just i have a set of 4age valves there now and if they would do the trick without having to get yaris bucketts then ill use them cs it would be better to have the over sized valves aswell like ya no. suppose all i can do is ring the shop 2moro and ask the how big is the gap. thanks
