I find myself leaning towards rwdstarlet as these cruise camshafts have been made work elsewhere. Please update us with whatever solution you end up with :)

After collecting the head yesterday, the machine shop told me they couldnt fit the 4age valves as there too long, that the gap between the cam and shim that they need to fill is 4mm and the 4age valves are 2mm to big, all a big disaster really, but im not giving up these cams will be fitted and running, il leave u know

Can't the valves be cut down?

The collet fixing rings would need cut as well, depending on how much needs to come off them it may end up a bad fixing, not good at 8K revs. And he would still have the shims to sort out as well after that.

@ Skalabala: Ino and so many other people have done it before me, thats what gets me.
@ weejohn: Exactly what they said to me, that the collet would be the problem if they go cutting the valves.
@ hkspower: Thanks for the offer, if you will fix it for cheap, or free il send it over no bother haha.

ok thanks for da info lad, i have no problem ordering the yaris buckets as a friend works in the parts section in toyota main dealers, its just getting someone to "machine" my shims to go under the yaris buckets is the problem, every machine shop i go to says they dont want to take on that sort of custom work, bulls**y really, i looked at the 4age buckets i have alrite and the underneath of the bucket is flet as aposed to the 4efte ones have a grove as such that the valve spring would sit up into, so maybe 4age buckets could just do it? Thanks for yer help :)

shame your not in the uk really mate, i know of 2 really fantastic race engine builders who thrive on custom stuff, and would have your head sorted in no time,

also i'm pretty certain the shims already fit under the buckets but dont qoute me on that

they dont need to be secured, thats why there underbucket shims,

basicly by the time there shimmed up there wont be enough clearance for the buckets to jump out, or cause any issues, your max rev limit will always be around the 8.5k mark which is more than enough,

Let us know how it all works lad, good to see a working final result.

Hi lads just an update incase anyone else gets stuck doing this type of head, i now have the head done and in the car, i needed to get Top Hat shims to fill the gaps to make the cams work, but i also got yaris solid buckets (are not needed but safer for higher revs) and then she was all shimed up and everything fitted by a ladwho builds race engines for hotrod cars down my way :) Thanks for everyones help.
