I run a t3 super 45., .45hot side, .42cold side, on normal driving conditions it does not come on boost easily which I find good due to gas prices. when my foot is flat it comes on at about 3500-3800rpm and pulls straight to the limiter, I get about 4 psi in 1st gear and all 9psi in secound gear,(external wastegate spring 9psi). I saw that you said you want a nice drag car, I believe this would do the job. It is cheap it costed me 300 US shipped and landed to barbados. It is also brand new and came with a steel braded line and a restrictor inside as well as high quality flanges, the car does not break traction and I need shocks. So the lag will help you out of the hole (good for drag). Also I have a leak around my wastegate flange so response will be better when fixed. Yes the T series is old but it is cheap to buy fix and repair and it has the most wheels and housings to choose from, turbo starlets are old ! don't we beat subs and evos with a little work.
Garrett turbos which cars do they come off of ??that run best on the gt turbo and do you need a manifold made for them .just a tough are they better than the ct9 hybird?
My car is stock, just a small port match job on the intake side. However i would be going 5e in a week or two, because I want more torque.
Don't think i am being rude but why do you guys have to get a turbo from a cossy or from a wrx, gsr, it is more expensive to buy a new factory spec turbo than a custom spec t3. There is no disputing that a t3 is cheaper and although u guys may argue that you can get them 2nd hand for a 100 quid why risk putting up to fail in a week or two.
What is funny only the cossy has a factory spec t series turbo that is suitable for our cars that is why you guys don't like them or have allot of them. IHI produces better turbo than mitsubishi to me also does KKK I see a few IHI turbo and KKKs but everything is td04 here, come on guys, it is not a issue of trying to re-invent the wheel, but doing your own thing. That is what makes us individuals and makes cars fun and competitive not like the recipe td04 on 1.1 bar or td04 1.2 or 1.4 bar with 440cc injectors and a emanage that makes this amount and that amount of bhp, we could as well all drive honda civics. and bake bread with all the recipes
You need to come to Jamaica. As for many people using Mitsubishi turbos, although they're also excellent units, I havent seen them achieving better results than Garretts hence why im more leaning towards Garrett.
You need to come to Jamaica.
All the top cars are MHI units including the one that ran 10.9. Out of the top five hp cars, only one is a Garrett. Out of the top five drag times, only one is a Garrett. The two fastest circuit EPs are MHI.
The common turbo here is the tdo4l because people were tired of the faulty Garretts, and sub-standard street performance. My friend just trashed his on his Civic after two weeks. The best thing about them is that you pick one up anywhere for next to nothing, but u get what you pay for.
If you look at the JDM EPs they all avoid anything but the exotic GT Garretts.
if you got the money garrett gt turbos are the way forward imo
Puffy and Spi run MHI. Those are the two fastest Starlets in Jamaica.and as far as I know on wheels the highest powered 4efte has on a garrett.
why nissan guys don't complain about garretts, all over the world garretts are good, and only jamaicans complain. Answer me that, I had 4 nissans before my starlet 2 turbo charged, I have endless friends with sr20s they do not complain, so I know what I am talking about. Do you? or are you just going on hear say.
trust and hks turbos are garretts though..... just re specd wheels... the rest is still a garrett unit in theory
garrett all the way for me 2years on the car and i am having good power..
