I've given up hope :(
I've no patience for it,
I think it's shite!
It's CoD4 all over again with worse maps and different guns,
That's jus IMO.

Went back onto CoD4 today, and got a 20 kill streak with the M40 sniper

Anybody else giving up hope on Mw2?

Have never played any of the other previous COD games but I completed the MW2 this morning.

I'm mostly looking forward to getting my new Broadband to play online..:p

I finished the single player the other day aswell,
That is good alright.

The first time I went online,
I was just like WOW!
Now, it's just like... meh, why bother with it?

I have MW1 on the PC and I now have MW2 on the Eggsbox.

I think those that criticise MW2 as being too difficult and the online maps as being shit aren't thinking about it properly. Modern Warfare 2 is to FPSs what Forza and Gran Turismo are to racing games. By that I mean that it's a simulation. Granted it's not hugely realistic in some parts, but they have to appeal to the majority of the gamers that will play it and you can't get much more realistic than the Hardcore modes.

Getting back to the maps, why do you hate them so much? No more camping spots? Not open enough? Too closed in?

I think they're very well designed. Name me, on any map, a camping spot that can only be accessed easily from one direction without being spotted? I'd be very surprised if you find one. I've played every map so far and every vantage point I've found that could be used for sniping so far has at least 2 entry points. It is possible to get onto the roof of the southern building on Highrise, and there is only one way up, but that way up there is very likely to get you shot.

I think what Infinity Ward have done with MW2 is take MW1 and remove all of the things that were shit about it, and I love the end result.

You can get on both buildings on Highrise :) i'll show you if you want?

I don't really know what it is about the game that I don't like.
Maybe it's just because I know CoD4 inside and out, every spot on all maps etc., and then to have to do it all again?

Some maps are just straight up shit, take Afghan for example, absolute awful map altogether!

Guns are good, but on the downside, I think there are too many attachments and challenges etc, which will make people more incline to boost.

I'll prob still play it, maybe get to rank 70 eventually, but that's about it for me.

Gonna get DJ Hero for crimbo and beast it up :)

I've seen the video guide, so I know how it's done. My point was that the only route to the vantage points is a dangerous and open one.

This is exactly it. You know the COD4 maps inside out. All of the choke points, the vantage points, where you can and can't camp without getting shot. You've got to learn it all again with MW2 and, to start with, it will be frustrating. Stick with it though, it'll be worth it. ;)

And the attachments/levels gives you a challenge and something to work for.

Hmm.. I'll try, i'm just getting bored of it though.
Cheers though mate :)

I think they've dramatically improved it! A lot of elevation changes involved, hard to explain but I mean like theres many points where you can move low and high. Until you know the maps it makes it very tricky, as you don't know whether to look up on the roofs or down the hills.

I'm not a huge fan of all the tag things you can choose to have your name in, think it makes the game a bit 'arcade' like rather than simulation, but a very minor element.

Wonder if they'll bring out new maps like they did with cod4.

Yea, it is very hard. I find Derail very hard. It's fricken massive and I just don't know where to go :haha:

More than likely, anything to get money out of us

People camp to much on normal online (TD, demolition etc) and i cannot stand it when my mates play it. I only do hardcore

I think the reason I don't like it as much is because of the whole matchmaking thing and how they got rid of dedicated servers.

Before a match woul last for say 30mins and I'v yet to play a game thats lasted longer than 10 in Free for all.
It's the same with the other modes aswell.
Before I could choose to go into a game with 2 or 3 ppl now thats decided for me everytime.
Before if I felt like playing the a certain map I could no bother now I get matched wherever the game puts me.
The fact that we host I don't like either as it does my nut in whenever the host leaves, last night 3 hosts left within 30 secs of being picked all in a row.

I'll add you shortly.

I quite like those.

You can always play hardcore, they don't show up then. Neither does any of your HUD or the radar (Unless you score a UAV).

Derail is large and there are a lot of open spaces making it a snipers wet dream. That said, there are ways around it if you know how to play the map. ;)

Talking of maps, there are some planned for DLC. Whether they are free or not I don't know. I hope they bring out a load more co-op AC130 spec ops missions, that one already in the game is fucking awesome.

its not even a simulation, its one of the easiest games iv played compared to splinter cell etc etc. very good game , but not hard.

look at how short he game is etc, the game is minimal, all the emphasis is on the contingency of the game i.e. ONLINE PLAY :)

my point is the game isnt meant to be challenging, its a one route first person shooter.

online is where it is at.

So the game is short... so who has completed it on the only true setting - Veteran, no point playing it on anything else. Lasted 9 hours for me on vet.

For simulation realism, play Operation Flashpoint, totally different, no restrictions, and one bullet kills.

For me COD MW2 is ace, great fun, graphics, sounds, and kick ass online.

Also trying to work through the Spec Ops on Veteran is great, total gun fest.

Brilliant, fuckin A man, fuckin A.
