2 Different 4EFTE Harnesses, Need Help

So I decided to purchase a 4efte harness as the one I had was to the point of no return.
The harness came but some ends were cut.
Ends cut are:

1. the harness that runs to the front of the car for the lights etc.
2. the harness that goes through on the passenger side of the car
3. the harness that leads to the cabin splits into 3 that plug into the cabin fuse box

Seeing as I have my old harness i decided I'll just cut all the missing ends and reattach, however, it wasn't so simple.
On #3 that goes to the cabin fuse box, the new harness has way less wires than my old 4efte harness (see comparison photo)


What I tried was to give it a shot and attach what wires matched and leave the rest, however, I noticed that the wire that goes to the starter (big black wire with a white stripe) that comes from the ignition switch had nothing to connect to on the new harness and so I got all lights on dash but no swing.

Has anyone ever tried using a new harness in an old 94-starlet?
Note: I am using the original dash that came with my 94 GT Starlet.

Any help would be appreciated, if no one can assist it's to an electrician I go.

This looks like a major operation and an electrical fire waiting to happen.

There are many differences between the GT wiring looms. I've had some where everything plugs in but different pins are used.

Looking at what you have, I'd start from scratch. You can buy new ecu plugs from here.

Thanks for your feedback and the links to the plugs. Wasn't aware there were different variations to the 4efte harness, the main ECU plug is the exact same as my old with all the wires in the right place, so i figured it may work, but I guess not. Will just use a 4efe harness, ECU and dizzy to get around and search for another harness. Thanks again.

Yeah, you are up against it when it comes to wiring on these cars unfortunately. There's 3 different phases of EP82 GT, both available in automatic and manual, then the looms differ for ABS, power windows, climate control and even adjustable suspension so things can be a nightmare to 'plug and play'.
