wow... I honestly thought that in Ireland we would never get to find out who these were...

Actions that need to be taken:

-All assets from these need to be frozen and used to pay back what they owe
-The financial regulator should be disbanded and replaced with a new anti-fraud agency
-The minister for finanace should be sacked as this investigation should have been done before re-capitalisation of the banks was agreed

This is one of the biggest scandals to hit Ireland in a very very long time. There is systematic corruption in the financial services sector in Ireland and this was highlighted during the AIB overcharging scandal which I personally was refunded on three seperate occassions after it was discovered.

Reform of the entire banking system is required.

Man, this is incredible.. There's a rumour that the other 6 names will be 'revealed' tonight.. This is obviously a leak so fair play to whoever it was..

These boys might want to get themselves some police protection.. Some very unhappy citizens out there, some who have lost quite a lot.. Who knows what they might do..

Agree with your assesment, Dylan, in particular the minister for finance being sacked.

The approach they took on the Bank bailout was unbelievable.. Rather than sitting down with the bank chiefs and laying down some strict instructions on how the money is to be used, THEY ASKED THE BANKS what they wanted to do with the bailout money.

When the Government asked them to make some of the tax-payer cash available for loans to business', the banks offered a 'generous' €15m from the €7bn bailout. That's less than 1% of the money (0.21%). And the Government agreed to this!!
