There's only one place for a 4A-FE and that's in your grandad's old Corolla. If your going to the effort of swapping in a 4A, use the 4A-GE.

Either won't bolt straight in, but from what I've seen it wouldn't take much to get one in and running. Personally I'd opt for a 16v red top with the later 7 ribbed block, use the earlier (T-VIS) big port head if bolting a turbo to it or the later small port head if staying n/a. The easiest base for building a 4A-GTE would be a late 4A-GZE but they're difficult to find in reasonable condition.

4E or nothing bud! You need to change mountings and gearbox and management for the 4AFE.
And no point in going 4AG either. 4E can hit 10s on the 400m what more do you want?
And it is also a way better feeling to beat up a big car with a 1.3 than the 1.6.
