4e with oil problems and white smoke please help!!!

Hi folks

I have 4efte (stock internal) with a custom manifold and a t25g turbo
The problems is that the turbo stop at idle and the compressor is throwing out oil from the air inlet and the engine is throwing white smoke from the exhaust
The following things have been done to find the problem without any kind of result
• Complete turbo rebuild
• Put a oil restrictor
• Change the PCV valve
• Engine compression tested (152psi in all pistons)
The white smoke appears as soon pass the 3000 rpm

I appreciate any advice
thanks

If the turbo does not spin on idle then oil will go through the seals and as soon as you drive it it will smoke.

ok thanks
what I can do to make the turbo spin at idle?
is the t25g to big for my engine

My mechanic told me that the compression is very low (152psi) and I should change the rings on the pistons

That does not sound to low to me.
You will need a stand alone management to play with the timing at 700-1300rpm
My turbo also did it. T25G has a big exhaust side.

Maybe rebuild with forged pistons and rods and thinner head gasket, if you have that kind of cash :D

But first let a turbo shop have a look at the turbo.

Is it a Garrett T25G Ball Bearing turbo?
If so it should spin at idle otherwise something is wrong with it.

Thanks mate

I have Greddy emanage blue. Piggy back

The T25G turbo is journal bearing
A/R.64 turbine
A/R.80 compressor
came out from a SR20DET

I want to change to a TD04L in a few days

The T25G is a very good turbo.
Just let someone have a look at it before removing it.
How is the lag on the turbo?

The T25G is a Garret turbo
is a little laggy the full boost kick @ 4300 RPM

the turbo was completely repair 2 months ago

I want to change to a TD04L because have a better response and has given better results

Yes go for the TD04 buddy.
Just make shure of the model you get.

I have 2 of the TD04L with this part number 49377-04300
I search in the internet an is a TD04L-13T/6 from a 02-06 Subaru WRX

What you think about this turbo ?

And thanks for all yours help !!!

There is a bit of a confusion on the 13T
If the turbine exducer measures 41mm then you are good to go :)
If the turbine exducer measures 45.7mm then it is a 13T with a HL turbine wheel.
Not to good set up for a 1.3 because it has a smallish compressor wheel 40.6mm compared to the turbine wheel.

You want a 13G or a 15G

I take a look in the internet

WRX EJ20 TD04L turbo
49377-04300
compressor wheel w/ 6-blade
40.56mm @ inducer
55.98mm @ exducer
Turbine Wheel 12-blade design
46.88mm @ inducer
41.18mm @ exducer
A/R .41
I think that come with the 13G wheel

Is this the good one ?
I hope beacuse a i have 2 of them

Thanks

so did your original (white) smoke problem get sorted..?

no.... my mechanic goes on to say that the problem is in the engine ( he said 152psi is a low compression ) so I'm going back to CT9

If the problem persists then I will change the piston rings

and then put the TD04
