4efte engine rebuild tutorial?

hey is there any 4efte engine rebuild tutorials?

ive heard there is something strange to do with the camshaft and just want to double check wat the problems will be.

You got to put a service bolt in the inlet camshaft as its tensioned, if you look at the gear you'll see its actually two gears which are tensioned together just makesure you put a bolt through the hole on the gear before you take off the caps (i did put some pics up before on here not sure were they are) there is a 5e manual on here to someone may have or you can get yourself a 4e corrolla haynes manual.

ok a little problem, we have already actually removed the cam as the head needed work so everything has been removed, before we could put a bolt in there.

what tension do you need to put the cams back at?

what do you do if youve not held them still

its just the intake cam has to be tensioned,thats if you didnt use a service bolt when you took it out

for tensioning the gear?there is none i dont think,there is a link somewhere on how to tension the cams,it easy,i just didnt have to do it because i used a service bolt,ill have a look

its easy to do iv done several just put the cam in a vice securely using the hexagonal bits on the camshaft use a bolt in the other hole and lever using the centre bit of the cam and a large screw driver or leverage bar untill the holes line up & put your bolt through (hard to explain but easy when you got it n a vice)
