** 4th gear problem **

I have a problem with my 4th gear when changing fast it wont go in sometimes when changeing slow it goes in gear fine can anyone help? all the other gears are fine, i have been useing normal 75w-90 gear oil, would it be worth to use some redline gear oil to see if the problem goes

sounds like a possible syncro hub problem,once it goes in 4th is sometimes harder to get back out?

Had this problem with the civic, would crunch going into 5th at high revs/speed.Was gonna order hub and syncro for it.

na its just normal to get back out 4th its just when shiftin fast from 3rd to
4th it doesnt like it and you hear the grinding sound so i slow down and slowey put it in 4th then it goes it fine would it be much money to fix ?

you need to replace the syncro rings so the box will have to come out i,d have it reconditioned throughout to save doing it again later

Yeah if you press the clutch and wait a few seconds it will go in clean. Worth checking your oil level in the box aswell.But probably needs a strip down.

only good reconditioers i know of are near me in somerset but they can only quote once the box is inspected or you could take a chance on a second hand one
