Adjustable Rear anti role bar question

The Whiteline panhard rod was one of my first mods. It has a massive impact on how the rear of the car feels through the corners.

You can almost bend the the original panhard with your bare hands! that's how weak it is.
The Whiteline bar is much thicker and it has PU bushings. (TRD does also bushings for the std. panhard)

To get a "fun to drive" car, it's a must as you'll get a much better feel of the rear end of the car.
(I've sold quite a few, also to non lowered cars.)

Just received my adjustable rear ARB from toby  and im wondering what does the diffrence strengths refer to and whats best for street use???

im guessing the stiffer it is, the less roll you will have

as for the panhard rod arguement, its kinda like a fmic

doesnt give you extra power, it maintains your peak power better

a panhard rod wont give you massive increases on its own, but if the cars height is changed, as said before, it is essential

i have also felt the effects of fitting an adjustable pan hard rod AFTER lowering the car and the very first roundabout i went around at pace i could feel the improvement straight away so its defo makes a huge difference........when required

Amen hopefully that should be enough info for anyone who doesn't realise you need one, we don;t recommend them as we want to sell them we recommend them as it's common physics of a Starlets rear axle end off! :)

Techically yes, but the roll bar determines oversteer and understeer. Your overall setup will determine how it works. In the middle on mine makes the car four wheel drift. The stiffest setting causes on the limit oversteer, and I've never tried the softest setting.

good thread!

ive been suffering this twichyness from the rear also since fitting my coilovers,

i thought it may have been the 185 tyres not being able to cope ( it may be connected ) but it sounds like i could probably do with one of these!!

are the adjustable rods essential or are the fixed just as good? or would it be worth splashing the extra for the adjustable.

While were on the subject of the panhard rod. i fitted mine along with the rear arb, and went over one bump and the right hand side scraped a bit, but all seems to be in line before hand..Should i adjust it again? thinking of getting the arches rolled as it seemed inline when i measured it.

I can't even get mine on the car :( LOL

Does it need to be set up at ride height? If I get 4 wheel alignment done will they adjust the panhard rod? Because I really don't know what level to adjust it to! :s

At right height. They won't do it at the alignment. Just do it yourself. Measure the difference at either side and adjust it. repeat this until you get it right.

Will this lift one the passengers side to sit as high as the drivers side, or will it drop the drivers side to sit as low as the the passengers side?

I hope its the second option!

Doesn't do both. You adjust de postion of the axle under the car.

@Jules-B

If it scrubs on one side, adjust it a bit more. When you've got it perfect, the car should scrub on both wheels at the same time.:p

For anyone who wants to know you actually need to make the panhard rod shorter than the original in order to re-align, the lower you are height wise the more you will need to shorten it :)

Just how much difference does it make on a lowered car?

And im right in thinking it corrects the extra negative camber thats put on the rear wheels when the ride height is lowered?
