rite then just got the info on how much its gonna cost me 2 repair the womans car i was in the accident with as im not going throo insurance

its more than was expected as it looked like just paintwork

but its gonna cost a new front bumper,arch,alloy refurb,lavour and rear wheel realignment!!! £670

mines is hardly anythn to fix tho!

hers couldnt be sprayed due to the fact her rav has a wierd kinda paint which they donot spray now and only replace directly!

its a ball ache but im just grateful no1 was hurt and iv learned a big lesson!

Its a bit rubbish but at least the other driver was good enough not to chase it threw insurance saving you both the hassel...

Some woman opened her door on my car denting mine, i phoned her later to say it would cost £200 to be repaired cash.
Her husband went mental an banged on about going threw insurance but i couldn't understande for a couple of hundred, his loss not mine..

you cant really blend in metallic colours well to get a decent match.

most places just prefer to start again and respray the whole lot otherwise you get a funny shade / patch

im with knightsy and ryan mate. ask her to get another quote. the guy i use for spraying can blend in with out to much hassle, how is buying a whole new one any different?? will still need spraying to match! lol

and like sorty says if u get a new bumper and paint it u still need to match the colour with the wings.

sound to me like the panel beater is bein a knobber and doesnt want to change his setup from waterbased back to 2pack paint. get her to get another quote matey im ex trade and that lot is doable for at least 200 quid less

if you saw the state of the 'blending' on my car you would see that some sprayers just cant do it.

Yea a proper bodyshop can blend them colours pretty well. Normally they spray the whatever part of the panel needs re-sprayed and then laquer the complete panel - best way to blend

i had a similar situation when i 1st passed my test, in traffic slowly stop an start stop an start.after 20 mins of it as following the car n front off me the dippy woman put her brakes on too let a disabled bloke cross the road, me not concetrating bumped her.

no more that 5mph. she jumped out saw i was young an said why was you racing about come flyin up my ass ra ra ra. i was like are you mad we been in traffic for almost half hour . haha i cracked up laughing. she had a scuff on her bumper of a £50 daewoo matiz peice of crap had mpore rust than paint. she pursued too go through insurance so i had too.

ended up total cost for her car £400. an my car was around the same. i phone the company up who did it as asked how much they charged for tcut an polish of a bumper. as there was no dents nuffing too bumper what so ever.

its a joke i only had too pay exceess of £250 but that was more than enough.

get her tae get another quote min she is talking pish that is what spray painters/panel beaters do....her old man is probably telling her to try and screw some money oot ye bud...a new bumper alone from toyota would probably cost ye near that..they're trying to get other bits that were already scabby done up at your exspense...
