Annoying noise, Possible injector ?

Today my V started making this noise that i think is an inector its like the noise they make when the car is first started and is cold that sort of ticking noise its really bugging me anyone got any idea of what this is ?

Does sound a lot like injectors, the only other thing I can think of it being is the valve clearence. Maybe someone else can shed some more light on it.

Any idea how to check or sort this sort of thing mate ?

For valve clearance you need to take the rocker cover off, and check if the clearance is still within spec. If not, you have to get some shims that put it back in specification.

hmm valve clearance sounds a bit like a job id leave to someone else ill have my mechanic have a look and report back

@triple j good shout that mate but theres no smoke from exhaust or that anything abnormall still feels lke it pulls ok would that dramaticly reduce performance ?


cheers for the help so far lads think it might be able to hold on my tdo4 kit arrives in about 3/4 weeks so new gaskets etc

no it would not be a dramatic reduce in the performance if its a little gasket blow out, get a mate to cover back box with there hand and a glove on just so u can have a listen up front to see if u can hear if its a blow out a little better.

Its a dirty injector mines makes the same noise.

It sounds like air escaping on the inlet side, either from the inlet mani gasket or the injector seals are worth looking at.

could be a dirt injector, took it out gave it a bit of a thrash to see if it would blow though if it was an injector problem and its fine now ....but if it pops back up like yous have said probs worth looking at injector seals or gaskets ...thanks again lads
