When you say carbs, are you referring to a single carb, twin carbs, throttle bodies on individual intake runners?

What engine troubles have you had? I can't see bolting carbs on is going to simplify things as they can be a pain in the arse to balance out and keep in tune.

never had carbs on a 205 but had twin 45s on a 16v kr golf engine and throttle bodies on a clio williams engine.if the 205 runs a kjet mechanical injection system its a doddle to do the conversion but you'll not see more than 15-20bhp of a gain on the 1.6 for a fair bit of cash after buyin everything and getting them set up.

the car has had the same engine probs since i had it, i changed just about everything you can think of, what we are looking to do is remove all the electrical stuff as the car will now start but once its warmed up it wont start till its cooled which wud suggest temp sensor but i changed that to no avail:(
also when heated up if you hold youre foot down on the acc' the car will start but wont hold idle until revd a bit this wud suggest the fueling system ive changed many parts of it and tested many lol but still the problems persist.

the engine has done 145k with no rebuilds in that time which doesnt help but it still pulls very strong.

we wud b lookin at twin carbs defo:)

all we want is the car 2 work properly were not lookin 4 serious gains and we feel that by removing the electrical side of things the car will work:) and carbs sound awesome lol.

I would hazard a guess that converting to carbs will be way more hassle than finding the problem and sorting it. What have you changed? Coolant temp sensor?

Carbs can never be as good as fuel injection...less power, worse fuel economy, less efficient, harder to set up etc etc...
