anyone help me with a 1.9 dci ?

hey guys bit stuck here don't know much about diesels! lol

i have a 1.9 dci renault trafic van and just recently its developed a strange rattle/ tapping noise at part throttle and when i let off the gas completely,

its pretty annoying that i can't find out what it is its only done 30k miles if i put the power down its silent then as soon as i let off it rattles like tappets like its dumping off hard to describe then if i just keep light throttle its rattles again

any ideas at all? i know something like this is hard to help with out hearing it but if someone else has had something similar they might be able to advise lol

Could be an injector fault causing an incorrect pilot injection at light throttle, this would cause a diesel crack or rattle that you may be describing.

There's not much you can do to check the fuel injectors yourself, you'd have to remove and take them to a diesel injection specialist that has the required equipment. If it is a fuel injector causing the noise, it's more likely to be a mechanical/spray pattern issue than an electrical fault, so you could try emptying a bottle of diesel injector cleaner into the fuel tank and see it that helps. I've seen good results with mechanical injectors before from using Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment.

forgot to add this rattle stops at 3 k if it makes any difference lol
