Just been involved in a car accident, lucky enough it wasn't in my starbo!
Was on a roundabout in the outside lane about to come off at the junction I wanted, and some dopey woman was in the middle lane and decided she wanted to come over, she indicated and pulled straight out and hit the rear quarter of my corsa.
I then pulled over and began to exchange details, but all she told me was that the car was a company vehicle, she didn't know who it was insured with and handed me a piece of paper with her name on, her secretary's name and her phone number.
I had given her all what I thought was relevant information, name, address, contact number, registration. I took pictures of my car for reference, and went to take pictures of her car and she told me not to. She didn't even get out of the car to see the extent of the damage Nor did she ask if me and my girlfriend were ok
I went to the police and they said I have 24 hours to get the relevent details, after this time they are not able to do anything under the road traffic act, but if she refuses to give me her name and her home address then they will take matters further.
The problem I'm having though, is the car is only worth £1000, and my excess is £800! being 19 and to try and get the insurance cheaper
Is it worth going through the insurance? Will I be likely to lose no claims? What are the chances of her work company paying for the damage to my car if I didn't want to go through insurance?
I'm so annoyed! Why are some people so stuck up their own ass! What annoyed me the most was she didn't even get out of her car! She checked the damage on her car and didn't even bother checking my car. Her car wasn't even damaged, fucking jag's! I've got a nice dent in the rear quarter and blue paint all over it.
What are my best options?
