guys, for those who run big brake kits such as the willwoods, ksport or wms etc can you tell me if they fit under the 15"s rota gt3s..

or do i need spacers, if so what sort?

an is it worth spendin that sort of money on a big brake kit, or a good fast road package like ebcs, lines pads good for the job?

just wanna make sure before any mnoney is spent :)

depends on your power dan and how hard your willing to drive/track work etc... 1 pot calipers and a small piston at that are never ever going to be great.

Well im sure Krissy had willwoods and they fitted fine under those gt3s you got off him.

Its just wheel like toms new actions (which i have) that dont fit over bigger brakes

It's really easy to check if the WMS kits fit in your wheels - just print out the profile PDF 1:1 scale, cut them out and try them in your wheel! Sticking it to card will help of course...

4P107 - Normal 275x22 size kit with best wheel clearance (printable clearance test profile: 275x22 kit PDF )
4P109 - Heavy duty 277x25 size kit with more thermal mass (printable clearance test profile: 277x25 kit PDF )

Let us know how you get on? Not seen the Toms wheels in particular!

286mm rotors 6 pot calipers

TE37 15*6.5" offset 38, 3mm spacer needed

RE030 15*6.5" offset 35, no spacers

RG2 15*6.5" offset 35, no spacers

Offset is the key, if the TE37 would have been offset 35, they would have fit without spacers
also, if your rims are 7" wide, they will have much more chance to fit, whatever offset you have

levin twin pots are probably plenty and waaaaayyyy cheaper

I'm upgrading from the Levins to the WMS 4pots, just waiting on them arriving. Am going for 2mm spacers all round (Rays Gramlights 57C)

I found the twins are pretty good but fade eventually (fully modded/emu mapped ct9 setup), best to buy one set of decent calipers in the first place.

There will always be an upgrade, but 4 pots should be ideal for small hatches like ours.

Replacement discs are very well priced from WMS and bell rotors are on the way. The whole kit is well priced.

Tasty food for thought for your higher powered motor Dan, go with the smaller discs to be safe and upgrade to bells later :D

i aint seen wilwwods or wms kits advertised by traders for a while dan.
seriously mate i take it ur going bigger then the td04 mark gave you???
how often are yu going be tracking it? to warrant the expense of those kits u mentioned.
im running celica twins and are a huge improvement over stock,
and as i dont track it very often the two pots are fine for UK road useage.

aimed at keri, you dont happen to know the braking torgue calculator do you by chance??

Torque at the hub is fluid pressure x total effective piston area (ie the area gets doubled for a sliding caliper) x coef of friction in the pad/disc x effective radius (from the middle of the pad to the axis of hub rotation, this is the "lever").

AFIAK Tuning Developments are still doing WMS stuff on TGTT....?

didnt know your brakes were still being traded on here keri.

cheers for the calcualtion education, was just thinking as sure this on all trac in the states,
that maybe a good diea for people to or traders to mention some facts of the stopping power of their kits etc...
