big end bearing caps

which way do they go? the grove inside the cap for the bearing to sit in, is that ment to go closest to the timing belt or the other side cheers

Im sure there is marks on the outside of the cap,that lines up with the markings on the rods.

They will only fit on one way also.

no offense but you should have marked them when you pulled it all apart. that kind of thing should be second nature when doing an engine rebuild.

it is vitally important that the cap that came off a specific rod goes back on it and in the correct way. if the cap is incorrectly put onto the wrong rod or put the wrong way around then your bottom end will become tight and wear out prematurely.

there is ways and means of working it out if you have not marked the caps but it is extremely time consuming, and only someone with experience would know how to go about it.
