Black smoke

Hi guys,

Need a bit of advice, When revving my car at a standstill (not thrashing it) im getting a fair bit of black smoke from the exhaust and it smells very rich.

What are the possible causes of this and what could i do to eliminate it?

Car must be running rich as you say, unburnt fuel is black, what are your mods?

car might be running rich or mybe burning abit of oil did you do a compression test yet

I recently put the car back to standard, the only mods are a hks actuator and an exhaust?

How do i stop the car overfueling?

Turn the Fuel pressure regulator down to recommended @whatever boost your running.

Ideally take it a RR center that tunes cars and get the AFR checked.

What if you car is doing this and you dont have any FPR, Stockish boost and a ECU You cant modify? I can smell petrol and it is very rich!!.. It only black smokes when i reverse or use 1st gear at a crawl (maybe the time most fuel is used?)

Any advice or tips?

then i would check the following: air filter, fuel filter, injectors & the ignition system, possibly the water temperature sensor & check if ur lambda is not reading correctly or the tps is not aligned correctly.

Is it possible to have black smoke due to bad spark plugs? and incorrect timing?
