blacktop trueno help

hey guys,
did an engine swap in the girlfriends blacktop trueno because her last engine got smokey but now once fitted the car is spluttery up as far as 4000rpm and backfires and pops out through the open stacks,i did change over the distributor and got the car timed,changed the map sencor,leads,plugs,coilpack,king lead fuel pressure reg etc but seems to make no difference vvt isnt cutting in either was just wondering would anyone have any info on this or had this happen to them??i know this is for gt toyotas but this is really wrecking my head:(

My answer to any engine troubles :) Get a stand alone management :D
You must use everything from the old engine. You just use the mechanical stuff from the new one.
Sump, block, head and the rest must be your old stuff, injectors, throttles etc :)

no mate its an ae111 trueno,the engine ran perfect in the other car it came out of but i swapped over everything i could from the old engine but made no difference????
