blitz access ecu

alright peeps,

someone told me it was possible for the blitz access ecu to go into "limp mode" where it cuts back performance once it detects a knock / malfunction. Anyone heard of this before or know anythnig about it?

When I fitted mine and started driving, I did notice that sometimes there was more power than at other times, and power did fluctuate as if it was cutting back on timing etc.

It was only for a few seconds but, and the Blitz does give out fault codes if it detects an engine problem, like a standard ecu. If it went into a permanent "limp mode" you would get a fault code.

If its down on power, I would look elsewhere for a problem. Its easy to swap back the old ecu and see if the problem goes away.

Did I see you today about 1 o`clock near Abbeycenter?

make sure the base timing is at 10deg before fitting it (as its pre mapped assuming that its running 10degs)
