Boosting weirdly........ helpy!

Hi guys and girls, I've got a little problem with the boosting on the glanza, when i put my foot down the car would make an up and down kinda noise like it's struggling to boost. Can't really explain it so I've uploaded short clips of the car, mainly in 3rd gear it goes like this.. what is the problem and what is causing it?? It only started doing this after I've had my thermometer changed several weeks back, but then it went away for a bit, now it's back... sigh

Have you got a boost gauge on there Shelly to see if its displaying what the strange sound is?

The gauge is showing almost 1bar, i think it should be 0.8 normally. I do have a EBC but it's not set up so that's fully off. But my car was running fine until i had the thermostat changed :s

sounds like i could be ignition related from what your saying. cant hear the vids at work

From the first video, you can see it struggling to get pass 5rpm in 3rd gear

I would check for any boost leaks, ignition components and have a general check of any wiring around the thermostat housing where it's been tampered with.

Check your timing mate as the turbo seems to be kicking in but the car isn't moving at all. One of my mates had the same issue and somehow the distributor was not at the right angle (degree). As soon as it was put back to 10 degrees, the car was back to normal.
