BOV hardly working?

Hey guys,

I got a Wepr FMIC fitted on my car just over a week ago..MY bov is a HKS ssqv. The flange on the intercooler piping didnt fit so I adapted some hosing I had lying around to fit the ssqv onto it. It sounded awesome for the first few days but i've noticed reccently that the bov hardly goes off now unless im on full boost at 4k rpm or higher. Any thing below that I just get chatter..Is this normal?..It worked fine before I had the FMIC fitted..

dunno if you have a problem mate but my sard bov since i fitted my fmic chatters like mad unless you are at high revs i.e 3.5 4 rpm then it blows off if thats any help

Yeah mate, exact same with mine..it could be because im only running 0.5bar boost at the minute whereas before I fitted the fmic I was running 0.8bar..

yeah i mean mine is running standard 6.5 but the chattering sounds the dogs so its all good

yea duff it could be dat,or a intercooler pipe could have come lose or someting it does happen.nothin serious,ill meet ya in town later if ya want!

i get a bit of chatter now where as it used to dump out..

I've also noticed that my car loses boost after 5k rpm and the 3rd boost light goes out and flicks on and off..is there a leak somewhere?

yeah I fitted them the same day!!

mine went the exact same when i had a leaking dump valve.
so you have a leak somewhere check all connections

you will get some pressure drop when you change from a tmic to fmic, a gauge would be a better way to judge how much rather than the boost lights though.


early type hks ssqv's are adjustable so you could try and wind a few turns off the nut on the back and see if that helps.

My boost gauge is still reading 0.5 bar even when the 3rd boost light goes out..I'll try adjusting the nut but dont know if that will work it just happend over night!!

Right, I've managed to fix the under boosting problem it was one of the vac pipes wasnt connected properly to the BOV..but the BOV still is'nt going off just chatter. I don't mind the chatter aslong as it isnt oing any damage..should I just forget about it?
