brake light problem

i noticed today that my brake lights are always on. its a 1990 gti corolla. its a double filament bulb, so when i turn on my lights the brighest filament comes on and stays on, ie the "brake filament"! and when i hit the brake the less bright filament comes on, ie the normal rear light, so there mixed up! anyone got any ideas on what it could be? i fitted a set of hids yesterday, could they be causing some sort of problem?

have they just been fitted incorrectly??? they usually have offset pins on the bayonet fitting to stop it, but worth a check.

i would try fitting them in the other way, turn them 90 degrees and see what happens.

also, maybe someone has pissed about with the wiring at the back? the HIDs shouldnt have affected anything

first thing i checked, they hav the pins to prevent incorrect fitting!
