C-Series Transmission Ratios

Here are ratios for various C gearboxes:

All C-series transmissions have a 3.250 reverse gear ratio, new generation C55# notwithstanding; they use a 3.214 reverse and 3.944 axle ratio exclusively.

Great Info i was looking for somthing like this ......but ive got a BIG question ..

Where is the C*** code stamped or whiten on the box ?

If i were to but a C151 how would tell for a C150 or C160 or C140 with out playing with the gear selector ..... ?

The Question gows to All as im not shaw ....

its not stamped on the box attal , sometimes there is a small tag with the code stamped on this and secured on 1 of the box bolts , but thats only few and far between

If you are just choosing between 151, 150 , 160 you could look at the diff code on the registration plate as the 160 is a different code as per this link http://www.toysport.com/technical%20information/Toyota%20Differentials%20Identifications.htm but those tags sound helpful I guess they had asimilar problem identifying them in the factory .
