My first car was a Corsa B, no shitty things added to it just plain standard silver. Really reliable for me. Polo is a good shout though.
my first car was a saxo vtr! great cars only bad thing wwas the gearbox's can go! hapend in mine and i just sold it! another thing bout them is the power steerin pumps can go aswel apart from that i loved it! sold it 2 some boy who broke it for parts

Only thing about saxo's especially VTR's/VTS's you have to be careful that they have not been abused. Take it out for a spin see how it feels. I would look at several before you part with cash.
You can get some nice motors for that money and like someone has said Polo's tidy and can be picked up cheap.

Haha I must be the hairiest girl going then. I was looking at ford ka's aswell but she is so picky its unreal. Narrowed it down to a fiat punto, ford ka or seat arosa/vw lupo. Not much to work with there but I'll try:drive:

Yeah this one was standard apart from being lowered 40mm. Sold last night, I shoulda just went and bought it and sold it on if she didnt like it.
