Does that can use a breather or pour an inlet back into the system as I can only see the rocker outlet going in?

I'm in the process of fitting my catch can n just had a couple of questions...
1. What is the metal ended piece of hose the is in the middle of the picture, and do I need it?
2. Will the can be secure enough, if I've only used one screw to mount it to my bulkhead....as seen in picture.
3. This one is just a check that the can will work correctly in this location with the PCV valve setup, with a breather filter on top rocker outlet.
