hi guys i need some help i have recently purchased a gt and it has an oil catch can fitted the pipe runs from the rocker cover breather to the catch can and instead of a return pipe it has a breather filter, there is a small amount of steam coming from the filter i just need to know is this the catch can doing its job or is there a problem? also in the catch can it looks a little gunky (oil+water).

i know smoke from a breather filter can indicate worn piston rings but this steam as it evapourates quickly.

car runs spot on and holds boost perfectly also there is a recipt in the history for a compression test not to long ago and the results were fine worst piston was 174 i think.

any help appreciated as im a bit dubious about boosting the car untill i clear this up.

cheers adam

Is fine mate, just gasses escaping after a hard drive usually. & the watery oil is normal mate, thats what the catch cans for. Just keep an eye on the level.
