Which one would you have? And for what reasons

1. Toyota Celica GT4
2. Nissan Pulsar

Just gathering info on them both.

Thanks

i would drive both first, but on first instincs i would say gt4,

its a toyota so will be reliable, fairly rare round my area

and also pulsars are old and been ragged 2 shit.. hard to find a nice example

Ive had both, and have to say id only settle for both.

My 225 widebody got looks all day long, but swapped ends all day long too.

The pulsar smoked it, but broke my heart in every way imaginable! it rusted, rotted, drank more fuel than you could comprehend, but yet had my nuts on the table every time I drove it, ready to be cut off for another 4x4 fix.

God I want them both back

I think the Pulsar would be more fun and regardless of what some people say mod for mod it will be quicker aswell. The reliability issues i hear put me off tho So i would have to say GT4

i would go for a pulsar if your on about a gtir because are farely rare and v.quick.the gtir uses the sr20det engine which is fairly reliable if looked after but have a dodgy 3rd cylinder:( but probably not as reliable as st205 obviously cause its a toyota :p.

@ Alan D - Thats a well nice Celica. I do prefer that shape to the other ones.

What are they like on fuel?

Pulsar, wouldn't have one if it was given to me:holdit: has to be one of the most unreliable japs on the market.

just to note both can be as unreliable as each other.

Celicas suffer from crank walk in later life, head gasket issues, and have 21 concealed vacuum hoses which if one springs a leak, will cause mind numbing fault finding issues.

They have issues with sticking calipers, soft turbos, dog bones and figure of 8s need to be in good nick on a 205. Beware dodgy clutches as the engine and box will ened to come out together, due to a little flap of metal on the 3sgte which can be ground off once out allowing future changes with relative ease.

The pulsar. god. where do i start.

Soft gearboxes. DO NOT buy one on a stock box. It WILL break your heart.
Prone to overheating. If the water pipes at the back let go, prepare to remortgage. Poorly designed hubs perish in our climate. As does the shell.
The EAT plugs for lunch, and poor gap will lead to endless missfiring.
Heavy on fuel, poor build quality, gash seats, sound like a transit inside when you close the doors, god, even the doors flap at near 100 as the wind tries to force them open.

lol.

What are they like? good for an every day car just to and from work and the odd blast around?

Tom
if you leave it relatively standard its bulletproof! nice and easy to drive and I use mine everyday. Quite quick in standard form but not mega fast... (circa 14.0 1/4 mile)

EDIT: I'm talking about the ST205 btw....

only the pipes were in place, and only on the RC and Sainz models

28 wrc victorys though, but yet seemily overshadow for some god forsaken reason by the bloody escort cossbine.

if buying a 205 price up new dampers too, not the cheapest due to superstrut system

GT4 for me, obviously as i also own one!

Pulsar is obviously quicker, but its ugly and you would be sooo lucky to find one in good nick that isn't going to cost you a shed load to keep running well.

If you have a bit of cash to blow then you'll soon hit some serious power in the four as you would in the pulsar.... but the pulsar would be in a smoking rusty heap somewhere.

Ye but if you had some cash to blow then you could make the pulsar reliable and it would blow a Gt4 away:p
