changing to ext. w/g

I have a td04 toyosport mainifold / dumppipe I got cheap.

I was going to weld in a wastegate flange.. is it quite straight forward? and has anyone done it before . heres my first guess of what to do.

please excuse the non-technical drawings :haha:

the 38mm pipe wont be that long and the drawings obviously not to scale in any way !

yeah Ive done it before, its handy enough if you have the gear to do it.

You need a tube notcher or a hole saw to curve the end of the tube to mate it to the manifold, mock it up on the car in position, mark it out, drill the manifold, tack it up with a tig welder and check it again on the car to be sure. Then finally tig weld it and clean the welds....Easier said than done but so is everything.

cool , thanks for the info. i didnt think about curving the end of the tube , probably would have went to weld it on then found out ! hopefully it shouldnt be too difficult. did you do it to the toyo sport td04 or a different one ?
