im not here to cause an arguement saying starlets are better than civics n all that, im thinking of selling my starlet now need a change the starlet just aint that reliable its a fun car but im after something else now, what are type r`s like im after like an 03 plate? what sort of mods can you do to make them alittle faster?

not much for lottle money but an aem induction filter will unleash vtec roar make sure its the long arm one that hides in the behind the inner wheel arch, and a decent full system aswell. supercharger kits :p

i see what you mean im either after a type r or a focus rs but i just want peoples opions on type r`s at the mo

personally id go for an ek9 type r theyre faster lighter and better handling and wider range of performance parts!

best performance parts for civic are

lightweight alloys

ek9s are far too expensive. its a 10 year old civic for 6-7k for a clean one. and you can get a 2001- for 6k. i like them but i wouldnt pay the silly money for one.

as for rs's, they are nice looking cars and volvo 5 cylinder engines power them. havent heard anything bad or what or how to modify them beyond their stock bhp. more tuneable though than the r as its turbo'd

probably depends on your budget as id imagine the honda will be more expensive being honda. 22k for a brand new civic jordan 10 years ago :eek:

My mate has a focus rs and only got a decat a straight thru system and a new ecu and its running 300 bhp lol but that is at 1.5 bar. problems with traction tho and its got a quad diff lol! :haha:

stick with your starlet its much better than a type r and youll miss the speed of her and the suction into your seat dont get a civic lad your mad if you do

to be honest i fink im after a focus rs more than a civic just was thinkin about them, i`ll see how things go, just the starlet annoys me alot one problem after another

yeah i know what you mean ive my glanza only 4months and i gotta put a clutch gearbox in it now and aive had an idling problem:mad::(

evo 4 and 5 = mega repair bills and extortionate parts prices etc etc

tegs = common as muck

subarus well says it all like above

i know someone who had to take a bank loan out to get an engine for his 6. bollocks to that idea.

How come your Starlet isnt reliable?

If I had to choose CTR or RS im afraid it probably would be an RS, unless it was a really special Type R ;)

Forget a civic bud and get a focus rs if your looking at them. much better looking imo as well as better tuning options for less money as its not N/A. when done right they are an absolute weapon and there is very little money in them now for the amount of car your getting.:freddy:

ile be getting an 04 civic type r next.

just because i want a car that doesnt rattle or breakdown every few weeks. so i can have a decent stereo coz my starlet stereo sucks ass, and becuase i think with a couple of mods they look awesome. red o4 civic decked on black rota gtr drift 5 spokes :D oh yer haha
