There are quite alot of answers to your question and it depends entirely on the car or modifications made.

If the gearbox is up to the task of transfering the torque of the engine then essentially there is no difference between an everyday car box and a racing car.

The change would be in oil, an oil that has a thicker film in hot working temperatures which is purely to prevent any metal on metal contact of gears. It's worth having a read on the redline website. (http://www.redlineoil.com/products_gearlubricants.asp).

Some cars with 4WD systems or Lorrys or other cars (auto boxes) that may experience heaivier load in the drivetrain will use a transmission cooler to cool the oil. This prevents the oil degrading in film strength and thickness as it gets hotter.

In answer to flow and pressure that really depends on the oil, its temperature and the rated thickness at that temperature.

Some race cars will use straight cut or thicker cut gears to prevent them braking and deal with the torque transfer, an LSD may be fitted and require certain oil additives in order to protect it. Refer again to the redline website as they provide alot of information there.

Hope that helps!
