Computer wizz needed!!!

Dont you have the inbuilt video editor you get in windows?

Like windows movie editor??

What he said;) Aye you should have a program like windows movie maker or something like that. You add the video into there and then chop half away then save it to your desktop.
Then do the same thing again but chop the other half away and save to your desktop again.
Now just upload the 2 individual files to youtube and paste in the links for us.haha:haha:

This is probably the reason the files wouldnt play in windows media player either. Your system hasnt been updated with the lastest codec pack for Windows. Codec packs basically allow your system to recognise different files formats and allows you to play them correctly.
Try downloading K-Lite Codec Pack. Just type that into google and you should find one there go for the lastest one available to you. When you have downloaded and installed that try and chop the video again and see if that works.
If it doesnt work I will try and find a better bit of software to chop the videos with for you.

You need to run it as far as im aware and it will open windows media player & update it???

Can somene clarfy??

Do both lad. Save it to a location. Then run it (by double clicking the .exe). The codecs may come in useful later on another computer if you save it to your current computer etc.

If you were to just press 'run' it will download to a temporary folder on your computer and then automatically run once the download has completed, but then would get deleted at a later time as its only in a temporary folder. The codecs will still be on your computer, just the .exe wont.

That probably didnt make any sense.

Good luck

Ok Mole.

Geoffrey, Samuel and I will have to have a family meeting about this.

You seem a nice boy, adoption seems a good idea.

Love Gertrude (perhaps your new mother)

This is 100% correct, you are better to save the file first incase you come across a similiar problem later. I always advise people to save all their burning studios, codec packs and additonal software they use to memory key as its very handy when you need to setup a new system or restore your current one.

There are so many ways to easily and for free convert the video file from it's current format to something like wmv or avi. Don't pay for any software whatever you do :p

Lots of good info here:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081124065502AAZIyNo

The reason the file is so big, is because of the file format in use. Use something from the above link to convert it to an avi or mpeg, the compression with both formats is excellent, without a huge quality loss. Keep the file size reasonable (about 100mb, say) and it'll upload to youtube no bother. You may well find you have to split it into 2 or three different files to get it to a good size and quality (as a trade off) one of the programs on that link will let you do it I'm sure.

I'm just nipping out or I'd do you a better guide! From a quick look, stick to the first answer (re:media coder).
