Hey guys.
I've been experiencing a noise coming from the chassis of my EP82, it's constant from 40km/h up, getting progressively worse. It BARELY and I mean very very slightly vibrates the steering wheel, and it's more of a sound/howl that I can feel all around me, more than in the steering wheel. The sound is reminiscient of a flat tire "thwap-thwap-thwap" or tire deformation.
I have lifted the front end, and checked for deformities in all 4 tires. Very minimal. Also, there is no play in any of the 4 wheel bearings. Also rotated all 4 tires - no help there, and the car tracks beautifully straight and does not pull at all.
However, the front right wheel bearing (while just free spinning the wheel) makes a less than agreeable sound, not quite like there's sand in it, but kind of a hum that does not sound right. Me and another experienced mechanic both agreed this bearing is bad, even though there is minimal play in it.
This brings me to a conclusion. Should I just pay the $200 CAD and get 2 new front wheel bearings? Or should I look into something else?
Also, could anyone reccomend a good place to get some bearings? Most companies on here just sell performance upgrades,
Thanks again guys, any help would be appreciated.
