you know how old these cars are mate and there could well be alot of shit in the bottom of the tank... have you the car timed? if the fuel filter was clogged the car would die out on ya

nope, been sorting out turbo and manifold problems lately, i do oil change and filter every 3 months, and clean the filter, but need to learn how to change the fuel filter and spark plugs, but for timing i dunno if i should mess with that

Yes it sure can mate, they will no doubt be alot of shite at the bottom of the tank and you would be pulling it through but running low on fuel i.e till fuel light comes on.

its not a good idea to run these cars low of fuel.....the fuel system could pick up some debris (fuel pump & its filter, injectors, lines, fuel filter)

check the system, clean/replace any dirty item(s) and keep the car at a reasonable fuel level (avoid running on "E")

misfiring could also be ignition related issues

just for you own benifit but may not be the problem...very easy 2 do if you can get your hands on a timing gun..

Changing fuel filter is easy mate........i did mine the other day, and its easy to get to aswell

spark plugs is easy too

but as for the misfire, could be leads braking down or the rotor arm in the dizzy cap
